Course Policies and Expectations

Late Work and Extensions

Unexcused late work will drop one half grade automatically every 24 hours and will not be accepted after 48 hours unless you have been in contact with and obtained permission from me to submit the work. Extensions will be granted on a case-by-case basis and only when requested more than 72 hours prior to the deadline.

Collaboration Policy and Academic Integrity

Your work must be original, and all sources must be properly cited. I encourage you to consult your classmates and fellow students for advice on sources as well as for feedback. However, the work you turn in must be the result of your own research and writing and must follow standard citation practices for any books, articles, lectures, websites, archival sources, and so on that you have quoted or drawn from. Plagiarism will be taken extremely seriously and handled in accordance with Harvard policy. If you have any doubts about specific situations, I am happy to answer any questions.

Please read carefully Harvard’s statement on plagiarism in addition to the Harvard College Honor Code.

Accommodations for Students with Disabilities

Students needing academic adjustments or accommodations because of a documented disability must present their Faculty Letter from the Accessible Education Office (AEO) and speak with me by the end of the second week of the term. All discussions will remain confidential.
